National Coaches Day 2022
“I love coaching because I love all of the connections and relationships I have formed. I also love getting to see growth happen right in front of my eyes! Every time I see a spark of confidence or improvement happen it is one of the best feelings!”
~ Dempsey Arsenault, Women's Lacrosse Team USA, AU Pro, Triad Coach
"I love coaching because it is more than just being the strongest, fastest and most skilled athlete, but more importantly teaching youth athletes the importance of mental toughness, preparation, and resiliency for when things don't go according to plan. It is a mindset I preach and advocate to all the athletes that I coach through my coaching philosophies and methodologies. I believe the only way for an athlete to reach their full potential is to have both strong work ethic and a confident / resilient mindset, that will serve them beyond the field of sports and through their life journey."
~ Nick Tintle, Founder The Lacrosse Barn, Former Pro Athlete, Elite Lacrosse Coach
"I love coaching because it brings players into the present moment. Every sports moment is a historical moment."
~ Kelsey Cuje, San Diego Palms athlete, Founder of Women's Box Lacrosse Association and Triad Coach
"I love coaching because athletes may not remember every drill or play but they will remember how a coach supported them, challenged them, and celebrated their victories. I coach for those smaller moments because they're the ones that end up mattering most in the long haul."
~ Amanda Khozouri, San Diego Palms athlete, and Triad Coach
"I love coaching because this game has given me so much through the ups and downs. There is so much pressure around sports to perform, and I love coaching because it allows me to teach and guide others to be productive in the pressure. It is so rewarding to connect with the girls on the mental and physical aspect of lacrosse and how they can become better lacrosse players, friends, sisters, daughters, etc."
~ Amanda Chasin, San Diego Palms athlete, and Triad Coach
"I love coaching for Triad, specifically, because it is an opportunity for those athletes that come to training to get away from their club and high school teams to work on individual improvement with others that are passionate about improving their skills! The energy is amazing and everyone (coaches and players) focus on uplifting each other while enjoying the sport they love."
~ Lizzie Des Enfants, San Diego Palms athlete, San Diego Palms Board Member, Head Coach University City HS and Triad Coach
"I love coaching because I see confidence build and grow in young athletes. Nothing excites me more then when I see girls I've coached in their youth now become coaches and contribute to the growth of girls lacrosse."
~Grace Saari, Founder Triad Athletes, Scarlet Knight, Triad Coach
"I love coaching because I love finding the true potential in each child. I love teaching character through sports and I love seeing kids have fun."
~ Caryl Hall, Founder Triad Athletes, Lacrosse National Champ and Triad Coach
"I love coaching because playing sports is where young kids can develop so much potential with their mind (strategy, team building, social skills, empathy) and their body (physical fitness, agility, muscle memory). To be a part of the that growth with young athletes fills my cup. Plus, I love to just have fun!"
~ Erica Jackson, Founder Triad Athletes, Triad Hype Girl

History of National Coaches Day
In 1972, President Richard Nixon signs a proclamation declaring October 6 as National Coaches Day. It states: "Coaches are highly qualified teachers—in highly specialized fields. But more than that, they are friends and counselors who help instill in their players important attitudes that will serve them all their lives."
