Triad Athletes San Diego womens lacrosse Dempsey Arsenault Interview

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUR TRIAD ATHLETES?

I would tell Triad Athletes to work hard and to believe in themselves.

The harder you work, the more confidence you will have when you play. Confidence is the key to success and you get that by all of the hours you practice and push yourself.

Every time you step on the field you need to be your biggest fan!

WHAT DO YOU GAIN FROM PLAYING MULTIPLE SPORTS?

I am a very big advocate of playing multiple sports because you

  • develop a better IQ
  • learn different coaching styles
  • improve your hand eye coordination
  • make more connections and relationships
Playing multiple sports also helps avoid burnout both physically and mentally.

ALL ATHLETES RUN INTO INJURIES, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO DEALING WITH THEM, BIG OR SMALL?

Being injured is such a hard thing to go through but it is important to stay motivated and focused during that time. It’s essential to remember that better days are coming and you will get through it.

Use your teammates and support system to give you strength and to help you on your hard days. While Injuries are awful, they can also be a blessing because they make you never take for granted the time when you do get to play again and really cherish every opportunity to play the sport you love.
