WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUR TRIAD ATHLETES?

Making small positive changes to your nutrition plan will have a significant impact on your performance.

I see many athletes who want to overhaul how they eat overnight, which to me sounds incredibly stressful. When I am working with athletes, at the end of our session I always ask “what is your small goal for the week?”

Those small changes, like packing a pre training snack or remembering to add more carbohydrates to your plate, add up over time. Which means you will see your game improve every week!

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE TO DEDICATE YOURSELF TO ATHLETE NUTRITION?

Growing up I played competitive soccer, and saw first hand what happens when you start training more intensely, but don’t understand how to increase your fuel. I was hungry often, but also felt like I was eating enough. Looking back, I wasn’t eating nearly enough!

Then, I found myself on the sidelines with a few injuries.

That is when I found the power of nutrition.

When I learned to add in more fuel and properly time my meals and snacks around training, l saw a drastic positive change in my energy, strength, and my performance. This is why I have made it my mission to support athletes and help them fuel their goals with confidence. I don’t want any athlete to experience what I went through. I truly love teaching athletes how to fuel their training and goals one bite at a time.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD AND WHY?

I can confidently say desserts are my favorite, specifically ice cream or a warm cookie!

First, I want to clear the air, yes dietitians eat dessert. They can 110% fit into your fueling plan. Some of my favorite memories are stopping for ice cream with my grandpa or racing my siblings to the kitchen for cookies coming out of the oven. For me, desserts connect me to memories and help me create new ones.

Food can be fun. It should be fun!
